Terms of Use

By accessing or using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We may update these Terms from time to time; the effective date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

latlng is a free, browser-based tool for finding, converting, and computing distances between GPS coordinates. The Service includes interactive maps, address search and geocoding, photo EXIF parsing, and supplementary informational pages.

The Service is provided to you free of charge. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without notice.

Subject to these Terms, the Operator grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, and for ordinary commercial use (e.g., looking up coordinates as part of your work).

All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or harmful purpose.
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data at rates that disrupt or burden the Service or its third-party providers.
• Bypass rate limits, authentication, or other protective measures.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except as permitted by applicable law.
• Embed the Service in a way that materially substitutes the Service for its third-party providers in violation of their terms.
• Use the Service in safety-critical contexts (navigation for vehicles, aircraft, or vessels; emergency response; medical decisions; legal surveying).

The Service relies on third-party providers including Google Maps, Kakao Maps, OpenStreetMap (Nominatim), Google AdSense, Kakao AdFit, and Google Analytics. Their content, accuracy, and availability are outside our control.

When you use the Service you also agree to the relevant third-party terms, including Google Maps Platform Terms of Service and Kakao's service terms. We are not responsible for the content or practices of these third parties.

The "latlng" name, logo, design, and original site content are the intellectual property of the Operator. Map data, satellite imagery, and geocoded addresses are owned by the respective providers (Google, Kakao, OpenStreetMap contributors) under their licenses.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service except as expressly allowed by these Terms or by the underlying providers' licenses.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.

Coordinate values, addresses, and distances are computed from third-party data and approximation formulas (e.g., haversine on a spherical Earth). They may contain errors and must not be relied on for safety-critical decisions.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE OPERATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE.

OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO USD 100 OR THE EQUIVALENT IN YOUR LOCAL CURRENCY.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, the limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify and hold the Operator harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Intellectual property, Disclaimer, Limitation of liability, Governing law) will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your residence provide otherwise.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Operator regarding the Service.
