GPS Format

Degrees · Minutes · Seconds (DMS)

DMS is the traditional coordinate format used in maps and navigation for centuries. Each degree is divided into 60 minutes, each minute into 60 seconds.

Direction is indicated by N/S/E/W rather than positive/negative numbers. Common in aviation, maritime navigation, and printed cartography.
